Change! Change! Change!

By now I’m sure, if you watch any news network or listen to the radio, you’ve heard the constant use of that word being thrown around like it’s the newest drug on the street. I’ve heard Hillary, Edwards, Obama, Giuliani, Huckabee, Romney, Richardson (although he’s GAWN!), and McCain spin that mantra catalyst like an old record. I’ve heard constantly of the “change” this country needs and that each of those candidates are READY TO BRING CHANGE!

*cues loud applause of crowd hearing that phrase*

Ok, ok….but now I’m going to ask you to stop cheering and do something for me. Please think REAL hard about this and ask yourself “change in to what?”

What are they changing? What do they plan to change? What needs to be changed? Why does it need to be changed? And how much of a change should we expect?

These are questions that nobody has yet to ask any of the candidates and quite frankly it scares the crap out of me. It shows that people are desperate for change but they aren’t willing to find out exactly what is being changed. they just want to change for change’s sake and that is the most dangerous type of change of all. Let us look at some topics that people say need some changin’:

- The War : What are they going to change? Are they going to pull out immediately? Extend the War in Iraq for another four years? Abandon a country to create a political vacuum for Iran or some other bat-guano crazy nation to overtake? What exactly do they plan to do?

- Healthcare: What are they going to change? Are we going to move towards a failed system of a single-provider method like Europe and Canada so that we’ll all be stuffed in to medical clinics waiting weeks on end for miniscule procedures while our freedom of medical choice is robbed from us? Or will they finally attack the tort lawyers who make it a habit of chasing ambulances and litigate the pharmacutical companies and the docters so viciously that it FORCES the insurance companies to raise rates to cover all expenses due to malpractice and drug manufacturing.

- Abortion: What will they change? Will they make it nationally legal for women to just abort a child whenever they feel like it? Or will they finally appoint judges who will overturn that horrible law Roe Vs. Wade and place the true burden of decision back upon the people and the states where it belongs.

- Social Security: What will they change? Are they going to expand the social program even further placing an even larger tax burden upon the younger workers in America so they are forced to support tottering old baby boomers who have squandered their lives away instead of planning for their own private retirement? Or will they finally move towards privitization so that the future citizens of this great nation can build their very own personal retirement and be held up by their own boot straps instead of riding the coat-tails of everyone else around them.

- Immigration: What will they change? Will they just throw in the towel on the whole situation and declare amnesty for anyone who decides to just one day cross the border without following the proper laws (FYI that DOES make them criminals)? Or will they finally build the border fence and secure our nation from the continuous mexican invasion which has been proven to also be an unsecure entrance for terrorist activities?

- Terrorism: What will they change? Will they bring our troops home and quit funding the continuous war of terrorism? or will they finally knuckle down and face the enemy they have tried so hard to NOT acknowledge? Will they remove the horrible law of McCain-Feingold, or will they still not allow our security agencies to freely pass information between them so they can work together to further protect our nation?

So much talk of change yet hardly any of them speak of actually changing anything. It’s a whole lot of nonsense that amounts to just pandering to your crowds and getting those applauses you so desperately like to see on national television. Like I said…..

“I’ve got so much change my pockets are rattling.”

I’ve already shown you the video a while back of some lady who’s personal vendetta against the Huckster has spilled in to the political world. Heck, I’ll even admit that it changed my whole worldview on the guy. Made me take a step back and take a good look at his overall record and boy am I glad I did.

If your wanting a consistent conservative president…..Mike Huckabee is not it.

- He is soft on immigration and has supported illegals “rights” in Arkansas.
- He got the NEA support in New Hampshire and has been anti-school choice
- His abysmal Clemency records show that he is also soft on punishment for hardened criminals (see video above)
- He raised taxes in Arkansas
- He expanded government in Arkansas
- Aside from his obvious SOCIAL conservatism he is a by-the-book economic liberal. Sorry, but I just can’t vote for a man who rides the fence and only pushes conservatism half-way.

I admit that when he first started hitting the scene before the primaries I was beginning to think he was a great candidate and I rooted for the underdog for a good while…..now I wish I hadn’t.

Ok, now that I’ve gotten that outta the way. On to business.

I’ve been mulling around the possibility of getting in on the whole audio/video thing. Dunno….maybe podcasting, youtube video rants, or whatever. Not that I care if anyone downloads it (do it or die in a fire :P) but I may give it a shot.

I have no idea how this will turn out or what but, hey, greatness (??) has to start somewhere right? Right?!

Are we expected to believe that someone that Ron Paul hired himself wrote his own personal newsletter and filled it with racist and bigoted comments and that “Doctah Paul” had NO IDEA that it was being written? Really? For years even? This is also the same man whos followers are filled with truther and conspiracy addicts that seem to swoon over him like he is the new Marshall Applewhite.

If he is to be believed that he really had no idea that a close personal friend who HE put in charge was writing things like that in his name then what does that say about his ability to stay on top of things as president? Apparently the “only man who can save America” can be “the only man to not save his newsletter”?

Seriously though, toss this guy outta the race. He’s wasting up airtime and we could all be talking about something LESS crazy if he would just quit and leave the race.

Yeah, that totally wasn’t what the global warming crowd was wanting to see. Considering that the middle east is the HOTTEST PLACE EVAR, but to hear that they got to see snow for the first time in like…uhhh….have they ever had snow since the last ice age?

That’s just awesome. To be honest? I’m kinda envious they got to see snow this year before I did. Sure, it gets cold enough here to snow but well…NO PRECIPITATION. No freakin water….sucks.

Oh well, maybe we’ll get a miracle too. Lord knows that snow in baghdad is pretty close.

Yeah, I’m going to have to go with the latter on that one.

You know….there are things in thie world that I learn every day that I wish I hadn’t. Yes, there are things I wish to “unlearn” and quite frankly it is depressing to me that I know that I can never ever EVER remove that newstory from my psyche. Sure, I can forget about it in a day or so, but the damage it caused will always remain.

They did have a few honorable mentions in there, but I am kinda disappointed that they didn’t at least give Amanda Marcotte one of those HM awards. Apparently her little debacle while working for the Edwards campaign has already been forgotten, but then again I’m pretty sure that nobody really remembers who she is now anyways.

Well, I do but thats because she thought that it was appropriate to insult the entire Catholic league and then went on a few month tirade of how she hated everything “Christian” and faith based. Oh well, maybe next year Amanda.

I’m also kinda surprised that they didn’t at least mention “Bill Clinton” because lord knows he’s taken his fair share of shots at the conserative side. Especially now that he’s been on the campaign trail with his wife, but then again….he DOES have to spend time with her so maybe not completely crushing his spirit by exposing him as a total liberal douche is what is keeping him from completely losing touch with reality. I know that I couldn’t have put up with that cackling beast like he has….

Har har, but in all seriousness this format war needs to end. Now. With Warner Bros. now switching to BR exclusiveness (and New-Line just went with them) the only studios left to try and defend the failing and inferior HD-DVD format is Universal and Paramount/Dreamworks.

Why would anyone be stupid enough to continue supporting the HD-DVD format? for giggles? I’m sorry, but to hear people so fervently support something that is circling the drain faster than Britney Spears just makes my eyes bleed with anger and hatred. Yes, my tears of blood scream in the presence of mass ignorance.

SO! Do me and everyone else who has been waiting for a unified HD format a favor and stop supporting HD-DVD and please switch to Blu-Ray. Seriously, do you want to be left behind when technology comes around again and swoops us all up in to the HD era and your not on the bus? No, i don’t think you do.

So, get on the bus people. Now. I’d like my eyes to stop bleeding now.

The Huckster strikes again!

You would think that an ad that was supposed to be canned would have been, in fact, completely canned and NOT sent out to news outlets where it would be shown in its entirety over and over and over again. The Huckabee HQ claims to have “missed the memo” but i’m not buying that. In the ad’s defense it isn’t as bad as many of the media is letting on but it does hit quite deftly below the belt and seems far too abrasive coming from the man who claimed that he was running on a more lighthearted campaign.

This is why I will vote for Fred. He hasn’t stooped down to the level of petty mudslinging and the reason is pretty self explanatory really. If Fred had even glared at another candidate the wrong way they would have just quit the race immediately out of sheer fright, but he doesn’t cause he wants to give them a “fighting chance”.

McNulty’s car and then tried to use all his dirty tactics to weasel his way out of it. The no good punk is trying to use his role as a lawyer to get out of trouble, but lo and behold the intarwebs has come to the aid of SGT. Mike McNulty (the marine who’s vehicle was defaced) and boy have they come out swinging.

Emails, phone calls, messages on machines….heck…people are even throwing down legal advice for the SGT in the comments to help him nail this two bit prick to the wall.

The lawyer’s name is Jay R. Grodner and yes he is a douchebag. The first comment on the link has all of his contact information if you would LOVE to send him a message.

To be honest….I’m kinda sad that the Marine didn’t absolutely ground-pound this weasel the moment he caught him trashing his car, but i’m also impressed that he managed to keep his cool and not beat him senselessly. I can assure you that -I- would not have had the same amount of restraint.

I would have TOTALLY blogged on THIS the day it actually happened.

However, being infected with a virus I think has advanced far beyond the normal “common cold” and has thus been referred to as “The disease” has sidetracked by posting by about…ohhh…..a week and a half now? Anyways, BAD BAD NEWS in Pakistan this week as the Primeminister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated.

There are tons of conflicting news stories going around right now about just how she was killed but CNN claims that she was killed by bomb shrapnel (per Pakistan official government statement) but The Today Show this morning claimed that she was shot up to five times before the assailant detonated a suicide bomb which injured and killed many others. So, while she is being laid to rest we still have people scrambling all over the place to try and find a suitable answer as to why the leading frontrunner in democratic progress in Pakistan was killed and exactly how.

All the while you have people rioting in the streets and protests are breaking out across the nation in such an alarming rate that the rest of the world has literally tensed up in anticipation of what may happen next. If the world had a butthole…it has officially drawn up.

Now, in our own country (US duh) the candidates have taken the opportunity to try and use this for some type of campaign push and talking points on foreign policy but honestly….is that where our focus should be? To people who might or might now be assuming the role of Commander-in-Chief in a year or so? No, we should be focusing on what our current administration is going to do to help and try and stabilize the region on Pakistan while trying NOT to step on anyones toes considering Pakistan has been a major ally in the War on Terror.

So, in the midst of all of this violence (which I now get word that Al Qaida is actually taking credit for) where does this leave the rest of the world? We have a nuclear armed nation who has just suffered a crisis event on the same scale as the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand in WW1. Except this time the country is being run by a military man who was Bhutto’s political opponent who has since put the nation under state of emergency and has been acting awfully coy lately on humoring the idea of giving up his position of power so that democratic elections could resume in Pakistan.  So, has the fuse been lit? Is Pakistan where the powderkeg finally gets lit?

I, personally, think so. the ramifications of this act against democracy within Pakistan could easily tear that country to shreds within the weeks to come and with all of the confusion that would settle in it wouldn’t be long before the other middle-eastern nations start trying to get in on the act of interfering.

I don’t know really, but I do know that this is bad. REAL bad and if all the worlds eyes aren’t on Pakistan right now….they should be.

The greatest Machismo-master, alien killin’, politically incorrect, trash talkin’, one-man-army is back! You know….if we had more people like that in our military or in our White House I have a feeling that not to many people would mess with us or laugh at us, but then again we DO live in a nation that is now seriously thinking of electing Hillary Clinton for President…..

Hopefully, Duke Nukem Forever will get released within the next 4-8 years so just in case she does get elected (or any other democrat for that matter) I can numb my senses with DNF.

This immediately raises another question in my mind…..what would Duke think of our current state of affairs? I tell you what he would think! Probably “Why haven’t they already kicked all those terrorists’ faces in and shown the world who is freakin boss” thats probably what he’d say……Ahhhh….I can only hope that one day we’ll have a President as awesome as Duke Nukem.

Yes, I am still an avid supporter of Fred Thompson although I was beginning to be swayed by the “too good to be true” nature of Mike Huckabee. Sorry Mike, but evil must die….not get pardons and paroles.

I just don’t have anything to comment on that really. Sorry, but “That sucks” just doesn’t really do the situation justice.

Yeah, this is gonna suck reeeeeaaaaallll bad. Why? because it isn’t like most attacks on candidates and it actually might have some weight to it. Huckabee is a nice guy, but if you look at his overall clemency records you might find that he is TOO forgiving and TOO nice towards certain people. It’s going to be this ad and the other information that comes out about his pardon record that is going to end up hurting him the most. Perhaps he wanted to believe that some people could change from evil to good, but thats the thing about evil….it doesn’t even change…..It just hides out until it can surface again and Huckabee let a bunch of evil people walk out of prison during his stay in Arkansas. Even at the request of other people that pleaded with him not to interfere.

I am totally against politicizing anyone’s death. So, my first instinct is to call foul on the mother who made this video but when I sit back and think about it I wonder if she doesn’t really have a point. I honestly don’t know….she does have a very questionable blogroll and the fact that she labels the HuffPo and Daily Kos as her preferred links makes me think that she might be just a bit bonkers, but even looking past all that I still don’t know. If it was my daughter? Yeah, I’d be pissed, REAL pissed, but I just find the actual ad in bad taste.

In conclusion, I find this unsettling and I think this might really hurt Huckabee in his run for presidency. My problem is that I might actually agree with the mother that is -should- hurt his run as a president. I don’t want a man behind the desk running my country who is going to pass out the “get out of jail card” just because he thinks that they person -might- straighten up and change. No sir….some people need to stay in jail. In my eyes it makes him look weak on justice and dishing out the discipline and the punishment where it is needed. Pity, I was starting to like Mike.

I guess I’ll just have to stick with my main man Fred Thompson. His menacing glare and tough stance on conservative issues has always remained strong so I think he is the way to go.

Obviously the story on hand is REALLY about the fact that the Hillary camp has been working overtime to try and throw Barack Obama under the bus, and her latest attempt at trying to defame the man isn’t working either. She tried to blow the lid off on him by revealing a “slush fund” a while back but when that didn’t stick she had turned to the big guns and aimed low….really low.

How low? Well, apparently Obama experimented with drugs in his younger days (something that I hear he actually speaks to younger teens publicly about and uses his life as an example on what mistakes you don’t want to make) and Hillary camp thought that this would be a good way of throwing some dirt at the man and hoping it would stick.

A traditional Clinton strategy, but unfortunately the wind blew back her way and all that dirt has rolled back and hit her in the face. Heck, the first link was even an “apology”…of sorts. Anyways, at the end of the day she just wants you to know that she is a nice person. Forget all about all the reputations that she has tried to destroy and the lives she has tried to ruin….FORGET ALL THAT. I mean….she brought her MOTHER out on camera to tell all of you. Don’t you listen to your…err….her mama?

Anyways, I just want to personally say I find Clinton’s attacks on Obama to be in bad taste and quite tacky. Sure, I don’t agree with the mans policies so he doesn’t get my vote, but drudging up a skeleton from his teen years just to try and score more political points? That’s just soooooo dirty but then again when have the Clinton’s -not- been dirty.

Yeah, I already KNOW it is a movie, but what I -didn’t- know is that it is actually the movie adaptation to Phillip Pullman’s “Northern Lights”. Which is the first book in a trilogy which is known as “His Dark Materials” and features a very prominent theme of Anti-Christian and atheism.

I like how they made the movie name all “family friendly” and then passed it off as some grand spectacle that all people of all ages can enjoy. Now, of course the media isn’t going to TELL you that the movie is actually based upon a novel series that was created to be the anti-thesis to Chronicles of Narnia but that is exactly what it is. The man who wrote the series “His Dark Materials” actually claims that he wrote it to use ALL religion as an example, but the author’s history of Anti-Christian and Anti-God comments show his true nature and purpose. In fact, this is the same man who has constantly scrutinized all of C.S. Lewis’ works and even referred to him as a “sexist and a racist”.

Which makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever.

Either way, my fellow Christians, if you were planning on seeing the movie then you should know what it is about. The first story “Northern Lights” doesn’t really delve in to the anti-God stuff yet, but just wait until you his the second volume and you’ll see what I mean. I mean….any form of entertainment that paints God as the villain should be avoided by Christians don’t you think?

In the end it really is your own choice though. If someone wants to support an atheistic film with their dollars? well…whatever. However, I can assure you that I will not be watching the film.

Yeah, the shooter was a certified loser of life. EPIC FAIL! as the members of the internet might say if they ever saw this guy in life.

Well, the incident is over and they’ve found out who he is and his situation.

Such a tragic thing to wake up to this morning. I flick on the television and I see that there was some major shooting yesterday in Omaha and 9 people, including the shooter, were dead. In the middle of Christmas shopping too….what a freakin’ douchebag. Prayers go out to the grieving families and those who were involved in this whole nasty mess. I hate hearing these stories, but I also hate hearing that the villains in question manage to do so much damage before they exit this world.

Just once I’d like to read in the newspapers or see on television “Hero at mall saves fellow shoppers by stopping villainous gunman from taking innocent lives”. Sure, it’s a far fetched dream to think that someday someone would risk their life to try and stop some crazy idiot from shooting a whole bunch of people, but I guess I just have this heroic streak in me that wishes people would be more inclined to protect themselves and squash evil when it rears its ugly head.

I don’t blame any of those people for running though. Why would I? The dude had an assault rifle and was popping out shots from the third floor main area. However, how many people did he pass with that gun in hand that just scurried away and didn’t try to stop him? Or for that matter where was the mall security? Do they not carry pistols to protect the citizens from this type of horror? Either way…the evil deed was done and a lot of people got hurt or killed. I just hope that the families of the departed can find peace in this time when peace seems so far away.

Anyways, wow, that post was a bit dark eh? Well, sorry for that, but these types of incidents just anger me to the very bone. These criminals who commit these acts are nothing but losers at life and people who are too weak and frail to deal with their current lives, and because of their weakness they have to hurt others….it just boils my blood to see these stories.

Seriously. The dude is absolutely out of his freakin’ mind. I just wanted to post this older video as an example of just how vitriolic and angry this man is.

I hate Alan Combs too. He is such a tool, but I’m sure your wondering why I’ve taken the time out of my completely important and busy day to discuss some loose cannon such as Leo Terrell? Well, I was listening to Hannity’s radio show on the way home today and they were discussing the fact that Don Imus has been given a new job and is now back on the morning radio waves. I thought to myself “Gee, this should be interesting” but I was absolutely appalled at how this man completely exploded as soon as Hannity gave him the moment to speak. Not only did he just completely make an absolute horses rear of himself on the radio but he referred to the two black men that Don Imus apparently interviewed on his show as “token negros”.

Good god that term just makes me cringe. I don’t think i’ve ever been so ashamed of anyone in my life and this man calls himself a civil rights protector. Yeah, The only thing he is protecting is his right to continue race pimping and getting airtime for being an obnoxious prick.

Oh, Shaun also had the Reverend Jesse Peterson on the radio program as well. He is a conservative republican and, of course, was the target of Leo Terrell’s hate and anger as well. He was so rude and hateful to Rev. Peterson that he even referred to him as the “token…” I can’t finish that term it makes me so angry.

Leo says that he is a lawyer and is a protector of civil rights and he claims that Don Imus’ remarks were different and unprotected by the first amendment because he “said them on the radio”, SO going by Mr. Terrell’s logic doesn’t his remarks now constitute as racist, inflammatory, and pretty much down right an act of public defamation? I believe it does.

If you disagree with me? Whatever. Most of you do, but that isn’t going to change the fact that Leo Terrell is pretty much the most angry and racist man I’ve ever heard of. Ever.

I was going to have like a big “thumbs up” picture to go with this newslink but I dont have one and I’m too lazy to look for one. However, do click the link and find out how a NAVY SEAL feels about people coming in and feeling sorry for him or questioning his profession.

Liberals, take note. Soldiers don’t need your questions or doubts whether or not they are doing the right thing. You see…..those boys KNOW they are there and they already know what they are doing is right. Turns out it’s by some chick named Imogen Heap. Who knew? Apparently everyone else on the internet but me knew it, but then again it’s not my staple of music that I choose. Still, the song is kinda cool and now that i’ve listend to it I can recognize it from like the million commercials for TV shows they have used it on.

Sorry to anyone who has come by wanting more Daily Companion Cube facts….apparently my PC was in such distress from the loss of its digital friend that it decided to die in a fire and melt down from the inside.

However! I did some tinkering and then I told it that I would be buying this soft and plush version for my desk, and some fuzzy companion dice for my car.

Weighted Companion Cube fact: Melted CPU edition - Recent testing of the plushy Weighted Companion Cube has shown that the rate of pet owners has fallen 60%. Puppies are left in the streets while glorious Weighted Companion Cubes’ are safe and warm in their homes.

Scientists believe that mankind is behind Global Warming and that the constant burning of the Weighted Companion Cube releases tons of harmful CO2 in to the atmosphere.

I may just send a whole crate of them to be dropped on top of the runner who goes to light the torch.

Organizers of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing have published a list of “prohibited objects” in the Olympic village where athletes will stay. To the surprise of many, Bibles are among the objects that will not be allowed.

And all of this right on the heels of their promises to offer religious practice places at the olympics. Guess you can’t really trust those communist types now can you. Seriously though….did anyone really believe that the Chinese would really have allowed Christian texts of any kind back in to their country? I sure didnt….they already kill Christians enough as it is so I kinda called “BS” on the whole allowing religious freedoms during the Olympics.

If you ask me I think America needs to sit this Olympics out. Why? Because China sucks and they need all foreign aide removed from them until they can remove their idiotic communist mantras and get around to actually producing stuff like food and toys that isn’t so full of lead that you could mold a bullet out of it.

Call me insensitive or whatever, but I just don’t like countries who poison my fellow citizens and then try and act like everything is alright.

But of course they were trying to raise awareness on Climate Change weren’t they? Also, if anyone actually watched the Today Show this morning you would have seen that their computer readings were quite a bit off.

Matt Lauer at Greenland - Said it was 23degrees F, but the actual computer readout HUD said it was 10degrees

Ann Curry - Claimed it was 10degrees where she was at in Antarctica but the HUD said -15degrees.

Al Roker - was in equador and said it was 50degrees….and he was actually right!

Anyways, I’m nitpicking  but has anyone else seen anything so desperate and weird lately? The whole world has just gone batcrap crazy over this “green” fad that is being shoved down our throats and I can tell you that I am pretty much sick of it.  Look, i’m all for conservation and cleaning up the planet and being good stewards, but I’m just going to have to say that buying carbon offsets, raising “awareness”, and rationing toilet paper isn’t going to save a single thing.

I was even reading in the special news stand quarterly issue and their whole topic was Global Warming. Some of the ideas were kinda nifty but they really lost me when they talked about living in 100sq.ft homes and building a giant mirror in space. Yeah, space mirror….not even kidding.  OH! And they also want to inject sulfur in to the atmosphere. Yeah, thats all we need….Earth to be the stinkiest planet in the galaxy. Yay! for science right?
