Obama’s Compulsory Civil Defense Service – Rahm Emanuel Audio clip

November 13, 2008 Aurvant 1 comment

Ever since it was mentioned a lot of people have been talking about this enigmatic program being referred to as a Civil Defense Service. While I will take the advice of others not to hurry and rush out screaming the H-word at first wind of this, but I will go far enough to say that this is really, really creepy. We have survived for 240 years without a compulsory civil defense force, so I really do not understand the need to build a civilian paramilitary to handle whatever this new force is supposed to handle. The reporter in the video is trying really hard to get Emanuel to answer the questions about the Barracks or Uniforms, but Emanuel just laughs at him as if the concerns of this reporter are somehow amusing.

Another thing that bothers me is the video clip from Obama at the end. He claims that this new Civil Security Force should be “Just as powerful. Just as strong. Just as well-funded.”, and I wonder just how far and how much training this new force would have to go through to be just as powerful and strong as our Armed Forces. Will this new Civilian defense service be armed? Will they patrol the streets as a type of secondary police force to keep the peace? What exactly will their purpose be?

Another thing that bothers me about this is the sheer hypocrisy of the idea. For years the left has complained and cried foul against the Bush Administration for “fear-mongering” and using the threat of terrorism to scare people in to supporting the War in Iraq. However, in the clip you can hear Rahm Emanuel using the same tactic of cohersion that the left has accused the right of trying. Aside from Emanuel’s own “fear-mongering” to try and convince the reporter that the mandatory civil defense service is necessary we, the people, have been given no other reason why this draft service is being created.

I also question Obama’s claims that this new force will be just as well-funded as the U.S. Armed Forces. Where will he get the money to arm his new civilian defense force? I believe we all know the answer to that.

This just screams bad idea, but you people voted for the guy. People wanted Hope and Change and it seems they’ll get it whether they like it or not.

More Obama energy ignorance – His solution? give out more money!

August 1, 2008 Aurvant Leave a comment

At times I think that Obama just covers his ears and screams “LALALALALALALALALA” everytime someone asks him about Energy independance and the current outrageous prices regarding energy bills. However, it seems the crisis has reached a point where Obama has finally decided to give out some of his divine wisdom. So, what is the new messiah’s idea?

Throw money at it and hope it goes away.

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama proposed a package of measures on Friday to help workers fight rising energy costs, including an immediate $1,000 tax rebate for low- and middle-income families.

Ahhhhh, tax rebates for the low and middle class. Obama and his flimsy judgement have seen it fit to keep the upper class free from receiving any relief from the energy crunch. Despite the fact that, ya know, they pay more taxes than anyone and are still having to pay the same $4.00 a gallon as everyone else, but whatever I guess to Obama “they can afford it”.

The Illinois senator also revamped his proposal for a $50 billion economic stimulus plan to include $25 billion to replenish the highway trust fund and pay for infrastructure improvements that aides said could save up to 1 million endangered jobs.

Translation: He’s going to use taxpayer money to flood the government sector to cover sections like Infrastructure that should have already been budgeted and paid for in the first place. Expect a hefty tax increase before this ridiculous amount gets approved on.

Obama said the proposals grew from his talks this week in Washington with economic officials and an all-star panel of economic advisers including billionaire investor Warren Buffett.

“We agreed that the main risk we face today is doing too little in the face of our growing economic troubles,” he said.

Inflate your tires people. According to Obama just by doing that we would never have a need for drilling for more oil. Also, why the hell is anyone listening to some old douchebag that says things like “Gold has no production value”? Not to mention a man who looked at the downturn in the financial sector as “Poetic Justice” back in 2007, AND he actually likes the inheritance tax which befuddles the hell out of me. He’s an old asshole who is now being seen clamoring around the captain bullshit who’s running for President. Why his opinion even carries weight today boggles the mind.

Speaking of Captain bullshit (sorry Ace but I’m using this) he’s decided that another way to bring about relief to the American people rests in the form of (Nope, still not drilling for oil for dependance) stealing money from other people. Don’t believe me? Let me introduce you to Obama’s windfall tax idea:

Obama already had proposed a windfall profits tax on oil company profits but the new plan specifies the tax would last five years. He linked his call for a windfall profits tax to Exxon Mobil’s announcement on Thursday of nearly $12 billion in profits for the quarter.

“It’s time we used some of their record profits to help you pay record prices,” he said.

You know what a “Windfall profit” tax is? It’s where the government steps in on a business and decides what amount of money is “fair” for them to make. Essentially the government would be telling Exxon Mobil that their 12 billion dollars in profit was “just too much for them” so the government would take away a portion of that profit to use for themselves. How is that not stealing? I guess when you disguise it in the form of “sticking it to the corporations” or “helping the less fortunate” then you can pretend that theft is charity.

So, yeah, there you have it. Obama’s plans on taking money from taxpayers and then, with the money you already gave him, he;s going to give you just a small portion of that back and keep the rest for the government sector. All the while not really creating a solution to the problem of high energy costs, but merely sticking a dirty band-aid over it and hoping it sticks for a while.

Stupid files: Man tries to fill up Car with Jet Fuel.

August 1, 2008 Aurvant Leave a comment

SRSLY.

A drunken man broke into a small airport and tried to fill up his car’s gas tank with jet fuel, police said. Police arrested the man, 20, on Sunday night for driving while intoxicated and attempted theft.

The man probably wasn’t trying to save money. The aviation fuel in the pumps used for aircraft and race cars, was going for $5.97 a gallon, accessed by a credit card, authorities said.

Heh. I don’t think we need to beat around the bush here people. I think we all know why he was trying to fill up his truck with jet fuel. He was obviously trying to fly it like some bitchin’ fighter jet.

Don’t want $10.00 a gallon? Vote Republican.

“It is a phantom solution” Salazar says. Oh, so I guess the Obamessiah’s energy saving plans of “inflate your tires” is so much better? Yeah, whatever. Even Floridians and Calafornians are supporting the idea of driling in the Outer Continental Shelf, but the Democrats in Congress are continuously telling the people of this country that they don’t care and that they’ll block any drilling. Period.

I hope everyone is paying attention to this kind of blatent bullshit from the Democrats. We have enough oil to last us, purely independantly too, for years. However, the Dems in congress feel it necessary to punish the American people all in the sake of some ridiculous idea that inflating your tires and getting car tune-ups will somehow save the planet. All in the name of a political hoax surrounded by the ridiculous and completely erroneous and flawed science of Global Warming.

It’s easy people. If you want lower gas prices and would like to NOT pay $4.00 a gallon at the pump then you need to get on the bandwagon of drilling for more oil. It’s about supply and demand and if you increase the SUPPLY to an extent that it far outweighs the demand then prices, naturally, will have to go down.

So, if you want higher taxes and gas prices then, by all means, vote Democrat, but if your sick of paying an arm and a leg at the pump for Gasoline then you need to get behind the people who want to drill. Now.

Hiatus!! – It has officially ended.

July 31, 2008 Aurvant Leave a comment

After a long hiatus from writing here, and writing on another project that, personally, I started to feel was a giant chore and waste of time I have decided to come back to adding more and more random crap to “Assaulting the Spire”.

I’ve decided to be less serious and just bring large amounts of the silly along with pretty much anything I write from now on. If you’ve frequented my site before? Well, then I hope to entertain you even more. If you just happened upon here now by chance? Welcome.

As always I allow people to comment on anything I write and I really don’t care if you agree with me or not because it’s my blog and if you don’t like it then find another blog to complain about it. I do have a few rules when it comes to commenting though:

1) Don’t spam. I’ll seriously delete your ass with the quickness.

2) Don’t harass other commenters. Again, you will be removed from this blog indefinately.

3) Don’t Suck.

Ok, yeah, that’s over and done with so let the flow of irreverent nonsense comense!

Ladies…please….for the love of god….quit getting short haircuts. Seriously, there is only like 2% of you that can actually pull it off without looking like a bunch of dudes. I just can’t stress this enough. I really REALLY can’t.

Oh, and bangs never ever look good. Ever.

Sally Fields silenced at Awards show

Thank God.

Click the link above for video. You know, I watched the emmy’s last night and I thought to myself “hmmm….I wonder why she was silenced. Was it a glitch? Did she curse? Did she say something stupid?”

Well, two out of those three were some pretty good odds I’d be right.

News!! – Iraqi hero dies saving people from Suicide bomber.

August 24, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

The people are starting to fight back against the Jihadi’s

The man sacrificed himself to save numerous people by intercepting a suicide bomber in the middle of trying to pull off an attack. How many did he save?

An Iraqi man saved the lives of four U.S. Soldiers and eight civilians when he intercepted a suicide bomber during a Concerned Citizens meeting in the town of al-Arafia Aug. 18.

The incident occurred while Soldiers from 3rd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, were talking with members of the al-Arafia Concerned Citizens, a volunteer community group, at a member’s house.

The man is a Hero and people are recognizing him as such. Many of the American soldiers commented on the mans actions and said that when the bomber ran towards the soldiers meeting this Iraqi ran out in front of them and grab the bomber and tossed him to the ground as the bomb went off.

“He was high-spirited and really believed what the group (Concerned Citizens) was doing,” Kane said. “I have no doubt the bomber was trying to kill American Soldiers. It was very calculated the way the bomber tried to do it. If he hadn’t intercepted him, there is no telling how bad it could have been.”

Kane believes the citizen is a hero.

“He could have run behind us or away from us, but he made the decision to sacrifice himself to protect everyone. Having talked with his father, I was told that even if he would have known the outcome before hand, he wouldn’t have acted differently.”

Tragic, but it shows that the people are finally getting tired of these terrorists blowing up everyone and everything in their communities. The mans a Hero and his memory should live on forever.

“The Man With the Million Dollar Balls”

Gotta give it to TIME….they’re obviously trying to get their clicks today.

It’s about Todd Mcfarlene and his obsession with buying the record breaking baseballs that athletes break the records on. He’s quite the baseball fan and he’s spent a hefty amount of cash trying to get his hands on some pretty expensive record breaking hits. He’s made the news because back in 2003 he spent over $500,000 to get his hands on the record breaking 73rd home run ball that Barry Bonds hit.

TIME wanted to know if he was going to pony up the cash for the 756th homer to break Hank Aarons record:

No, the ball that’s interesting to me is the last one Barry hits. That becomes the new number they print in the record books. 756 is cool, but 62 was cool when McGwire hit it, and I put my money on 70. This one is a pretty good ball. It’s a helluva-story ball. It’s a conversation-starter ball. But it’s not the ball. If you’re going to spend gobs of money, why not wait until the end?

I kinda agree with him. Wouldn’t you rather have the ball that “sets” the record rather than the one that “breaks” it?
