F***! – House passes crappy, stupid, fake “drilling” bill.
I’ve been saying this for a month of so now and this drilling bill called the “Gang of Ten” compromise is nothing but a big fat lie. Well, apparently nobody (but a few of us) are taking this thing seriously because it just got passed in the house.
The bill is HR6899 and it was passed 236-189 yesterday.
Damnit.
I don’t have the massive amounts of traffic that many of my blogging allies get it, so is nigh impossible for me to motivate anyone to starting some type of outcry on the same level that we saw the American public stand up and stamp out that piece of crap Amnesty bill that McCain and Kennedy tried to pass a while back. The majority of the Americans who see this type of bill being passed must really think that it will allow drilling to the point that it will help lower gas prices.
WRONG!!!!!!!
The Bill incorporates some of the highest tax hikes on oil producers in this country that I have ever heard of. Nearly $80 billion in tax increases for domestic oil companies who wish to actually explore this tiny area the bill opens up while funneling government money in to stupid, failed alternative fuels and renewable energies.
The Bill is a HOAX and does nothing to help us at the pump. The bill is merely designed to allow the democrats breathing room politically so that they can say in the future: “Hey, look, we voted on a drilling bill and it didn’t do anything.”
Which is WHAT THEY WANT. We shouldn’t be compromising with the Dems on this issue. Why? Because we can beat them on this issue. We can actually BEAT them on this topic and were just going to take appeasement over actual victory. Well, luckily for me two of the senators supporting this piece of crap “energy bill” are in my state and they are up for re-election. Hopefully my state will kick them out of office come election day.
You aren’t alone – many of us realize this bill is a sham – I emailed my reps yestereday & urged them not to support this ridiculous excuse of a bill – keep it up – I think people are beginning to awake from their political complacency – let’s just hope it’s in time to make our voices heard in Nov
