You are quite correct when you say that Mr. Paul should think before he speaks, may times people such as yourself misconstrue what he is saying. First I would like to quote exactly what he said.

"Well it reminds me of what Sinclair, us Lewis once said, He said that when Fascism comes to this Country it will be rapped in the flag carrying a cross, now i don't know if that is a fair assessment or not."

I think that anyone who saw Mr. Paul say that can agree that he probably hadn't seen the ad. He decided to speak instead to his values of how one ought to act, perhaps quoting the first American to win the Nobel-Prize-in-Literature was not so questionable. Furthermore, because Mr. Paul had yet to see the ad, perhaps he wasn't sure if it applied or not, which is why he explicitly stated that. Therefore, if we go back and actually look at what he said, he would have been clearer stating that 'he hadn't seen it, didn't want to comment on it, but wouldn't include explicit references to religion because of the feeling outlined by Mr. Sinclair.
-"Aurvant, Perhaps you should practice what you preach"

I would like to further attract your attention to Mr. David Neiwert's blog, where he writes in detail his thoughts on
why the republican party isn't Fascist, but notes the similarities. And why we should question some of the ideology that the party advocates. - This will be nothing less than an insightful read from another patriotic perspective.
