News – Border patrol claims that stopping illegals “isn’t their job”?

August 20, 2007 Aurvant 3 comments

What the hell?

I really don’t know what to say really. Bryan has obviously posted the “mission statement” that the border agents are supposed to abide by and then they come out and claim that they aren’t equipped or responsible for doing what the mission statement so states?

”The Border Patrol is not equipped to stop illegal immigrants,” Carrillo said, noting that illegal narcotics are also not on the agents priority list.

“The Border Patrol mission is not to do any of those things,” he emphasized.

Bull effin’ s**t, Carrillo. It’s your damn JOB to do exactly as the mission states and you shouldn’t be offering up any excuses why you can’t do your freakin’ job. Protecting our borders from -all- threats is your primary function and I believe stopping illegal aliens from entering or bringing potentially dangerous drugs, weapons, etc etc etc. fits in your job description as well. If you claim it’s not your job then what the hell does the Border patrol do anyways? Get paid to drive around and shoot the bull all day? Are my tax dollars being funneled to an organization that is, as this agent so claims, useless and unnecessary?

Horse crap. Border Patrol has a function and that is to “protect the U.S. border” and if the patrol claims it can’t do that? Well, then it needs to be dissolved and a better patrolling force needs to be placed there.

I’ve got some better ideas for a patrolling force: Army, Marines, NationalGuard, etc etc. I’m willing to bet those military soldiers could get the damn job done.

Audio clip – Laura Ingraham Vs. Geraldo

August 20, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

Thaaaank you Allahpundit from HotAir

I have been waiting for this one to happen ever since the Hannity show where Geraldo used the “Immigrationism” word, and to my delight Laura played the clip where he said it back to him. When she confronts him about his whole issue with the Newark murders he goes off on the most tangent, incoherent rant about everything else BUT the Newark murders.

So, when he finally gets around to it he tries to say that the only reason that this story has gotten any press is because the perp was an illegal alien. Geraldo is trying to defend the whole thing by saying people are latching on to implicating illegal aliens prematurely. For the few minutes of audio that you get to hear you can tell that her pressing him on the issue REALLY gets under his skin. When Laura brings out the numbers and statistics of the murders and crime rates in regards to illegal immigration he just does the stupid thing and claims them to be “fake”

He also goes on to describe some of the illegals as “Hard-working, law-abiding citizens” yet he fails to see the incoherence in his own statement. They aren’t law abiding citizens because they’ve already broke the law by entering illegally and then he fails to acknowledge the number of illegals given sanctuary status and receiving benefits from the government. The guy just shows his moronic side.

Then they touch base on his hatred for Michelle Malkin. He just can’t handle being schooled by beautiful women which is apparent in his interviews with Laura and Michelle.

The stache loses to Laura, but I was wanting full meltdown. Still, interesting audio.

Can be heard “Here” Hot Air captured the audio as well. Props goes to them.

Appreciating the Banhammer

It contains some graphic language so NSFW and if cursing offends you then back away slowly and it might not see you. NOW, for the rest of you who like to laugh at funny videos by all means click away.

The premise of the video is making fun of all of those comment trolls who reply with stupid things like “First!” or “Pwned!” or any stupid Borat reference that a commenter might come up with.

Being a frequent forum reader and commenter I can say that this movie makes me appreciate the banhammer and for those of you wondering? Yeah, I carry one too.

News – Is there a Rove in our future?

August 20, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

He says he isn’t ready, but i’m hoping he does start backing someone.

Alot of people (read : Liberals) don’t like Karl Rove, but I think the guy is awesome. Anyone that can literally jerk around the democratic/liberal base like this guy can is just ranking up there in my awesome list next to Iron-Man and Sephiroth. Sure, he is a bit secretive and the left thinks he is like some type of Darth Sidious type of guy but conventional wisdom will show that he isnt.

He’s just not a wimp like some people in the republican party. He knows how to deal with situations and thats why he was the Presidents top adviser for so long. The guy knows his stuff and I hope he picks a candidate to advise from the GOP selection. In the article he even takes the timeout of his busy schedule to mess up Hillary’s feathers a bit and she even took the bait and commented:

“She enters the general election campaign with the highest negatives of any candidate in the history of the Gallup poll,” he said.

“It just says people have made an opinion about her. It’s hard to change opinions once you’ve been a high-profile person in the public eye, as she has for 16 or 17 years.”

Clinton, at the debate, responded to Rove’s criticism by saying: “I don’t think Karl Rove is going to endorse me, but I find it interesting that he’s obsessed with me.”

That last comment by Hillary is the most asinine and ignorant comment I believe I’ve ever heard. She tries to come off all cocky and conceited sounding but it doesn’t really work out all that well for her. No one is obsessed with Hillary so she was basically blowing that one out her rear end.

Still, Rove throws the left in an uproar when he opens his mouth and speaks of their dooooom… and I personally hope that the next GOP president takes advantage of him.

News – Nude artist tries to expose climate change?

August 20, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

It’s that crazy nude photographer.

This is what went down:

Nearly 600 volunteers stripped before the camera on a melting Swiss glacier high in the Alps on Saturday as part of a publicity campaign to expose the impact of climate change.

They stood at the bottom of the glacier just above the valley. It was about 50-60 degrees F outside at the time. However, I’m kinda hoping that some of those retards got frostbite. What strikes me as funny is that these people are actually believing that this is going to start changing peoples minds about climate change. Allow me to elaborate:

The message they want to send: We’re bringing exposure by using nudity to show the rise in temperature by standing on a somewhat less frozen glacier than it used to be.

The message that will be received: We’re a bunch of weirdos standing naked on a big piece of ice. Look at our nasty, unshapely forms while we preach to you about your carbon emissions! Yay, mutha gaia.

If people are really serious about the so-called “climate change” of the planet then I believe there are better ways to start going something about it. Possibly planting trees and cleaning up the garbage landfills and recycling. That would be a nice start, but I seriously doubt that stripping down on a big ice block is going to change anything. If it does provoke a reaction it will be a negative one. Most people don’t get that kind of stuff and it mostly weirds them out and pushes them away from such activists.

This is why people don’t take the Global Warming debate seriously anymore. It had to be the fastest decline in a movement that I have ever witnessed. Detractors and critics debunked the graphs and numbers of the “consensus” so quickly that it has been reduced to getting nudists to stand on glaciers.

Nice try eco-freaks. However, I think you went to obscure this time.

News – Families of missing miners lash out against officials

August 20, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

I saw this one coming.

And I agree with the families on this one. The state officials and the mining officials involved in calling off the debris removal were just asking for this kind of trouble when they decided to abandon the rescue effort of the first six miners that were trapped in the cave in of the Crandall canyon mine in Utah. I don’t blame the families for being upset and I would also be outraged if I heard that people had given up on rescuing or recovering the bodies of the miners. I don’t know if they are still alive, but you can’t just leave the bodies down there and abandon them

Our military men fight through bombs and crossfire to rescue or recover the bodies of their friends and fellow soldiers. They know what it’s like to run/crawl/walk/dodge your way through a dangerous place just to recover someone and if those men can do it then so can the people trying to rescue/recover the six miners who were initially trapped.

The families demanded that MSHA and Murray Energy begin drilling a hole into the mine large enough to drop in a rescue capsule — a device used to haul nine miners to safety after a 2002 accident at the Quecreek Mine in southwestern Pennsylvania.

“The family feels that the rescue capsule is the safest and most effective method to rescue their loved ones,” Olsen said. “If rescue is not possible, the capsule is the only method to recover our loved ones so that they can have a proper burial.”

Olsen said company officials have told the families that would involve “unnecessary risks” to rescuers, but he said rescue teams were ready to use that method if needed.

Since when did everyone in America become so danged pusstified about handling problems? I had seen on TV that some of the rescue workers had abandoned the site and left because they felt “uneasy” or “scared”. Hell, if I was 3500 or whatever underground i’d be scared too, but that doesn’t mean I can stop until the job is finished. At least if the people aren’t alive then the least we could do is recover them and give them a proper burial.

However, I don’t know if the MSHA will allow that to happen in the end. Hopefully, the familes of these minors will throw enough flak at the officials that they have to do something, but right now it doesn’t look like things are going in their favor.

08 Debate – Hillary and her use of “Brushbacks”

August 20, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

I’m linking to the video here.

And thanks be to Bryan for gathering that gem.

Because I’m always in church on Sunday morning I don’t get the chance to catch the debates like others might, so I don’t usually get to comment on whats been said until it’s about three days later and the mainstream has picked up on it. However, I managed to get this link the day “after” church day so I think i’ll go ahead and weigh in on it now.

The video illustrates how the Democrats, mainly Hillary, is using certain questions or situations to strike out against the current administration even when the question doesn’t have anything to DO with the current administration. The original context of the question was about Obama’s little faux pas about invading Pakistan or not, but when it got around to Hillary it had morphed in to the questions about Obama’s statement about him taking nukes off the table. Hillary, after being shown a clip about her comments last year, goes in to a incoherent “blah blah” fest about how she wouldn’t use nukes at all and then decides to snap at the Bush administration for using bunker-buster bombs.

The answer she gives is just as incoherent and inconsistent as her comment in the video she was shown of herself. A funny gem I must say since she says “no option should be off the table, but I would certainly take nuclear weapons off the table.”

In her answer she claims the comment in the video is a brushback against the Bush administration and their “unwillingness” to not use Nuclear options as a threat. Generally when i’m dealing with a foe of some sort I would like for that enemy to know that I have a bigger gun and that, if I so deemed it necessary, I just might use it. Hillary, still pandering to her anti-military crowd, thinks that using our weapons as a means of deterrence is just a way of bullying other countries around.

Well, if those other countries are filled with islamic fanatics who like to kill people and blow s**t up while making threats of wiping other nations off the map (namely the USA and Israel) and refuse to follow orders by the UN on halting nuclear weapons production….don’t you think they deserve to be bullied just a little?

I sure do.

Science – Trying to replace God

August 20, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

Note that I said “Trying”

Those wacky scientists are at it again, but this time they don’t just want to clone people or create some weird mutation….ooohhhh no…they want to play God. They want to create life from scratch, artificial life mind you, and they think they know how to do it. I’m quite skeptical since most cloning processes have always ended up creating replicas with serious illnesses and finally pass on from some sort of freaky cancerous tumor. I can only imagine what type of damnable thing they could possible create out of this.

Logically I believe that nothing will come of this. It will fail, and i’m pretty sure that science can’t do a better job at creating life than the big man upstairs (thats GOD to many of you). I just don’t understand the urge for scientists to do such a thing as this. We already have a very effective and pleasurable way to recreate life and it doesn’t usually involve a test tube, a beaker, and some lab equipment. Unless of course your in to that kind of thing or something.

Still, this is what the scientists claim:

Around the world, a handful of scientists are trying to create life from scratch and they’re getting closer.

Experts expect an announcement within three to 10 years from someone in the now little-known field of “wet artificial life.”

“It’s going to be a big deal and everybody’s going to know about it,” said Mark Bedau, chief operating officer of ProtoLife of Venice, Italy, one of those in the race. “We’re talking about a technology that could change our world in pretty fundamental ways — in fact, in ways that are impossible to predict.”

I’m pretty sure I can forsee what the first major reaction to this would be and it isn’t so impossible to predict. I’m sure most people will dislike or hate this type of worldwide announcement. Most people will abhor the notion all together and will find ways to distrust or disapprove of the scientific method in which this path was taken.

Either way I seriously doubt that it will ever come to fruition and even if it did the creation wouldn’t produce the effects that they want it to. I’m fairly certain that in the end that God will have the last say in this matter, but it’s just a matter of time before he speaks on it.
