Politics – Edwards is a Lawyer! er…Liar!

The article shows that Ole’ Pony demanded that Democrats give back campaign donations made by companies owned by Rupert Murdoch but then it turns out that Edwards has been receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from the same man that he just demanded everyone not accept money from.
Boy, Silkster just can’t help be caught in a lie these days, and you would think with a profession as a lawyer he would be much better at lying.
Old news, but hey….it’s nice to see the guy get hit in the shins every now and then.
Edwards needs the money. I mean, someone has got to pay for all that hair gel, right?

Wow. Accepting campaign money so you can run your campaign vs. lying about WMD’s and links between Iraq and Al Qaeda: which do you think cost tens of thousands of innocent lives?
Oh, and John Edwards cares about his appearance! What a laugh riot!

There’s a difference between a campaign contribution and a book contract. In the case of the campaign contribution, though it’s illegal to make it explicit, the idea is that the candidate will do the bidding of the contributor. In the case of the book contract, the publisher is doing the bidding of the author, especially if it’s the author’s idea.
So, why shouldn’t Edwards be applauded for making Murdoch dance to Edwards’ tune, and why doesn’t that give him the high moral ground to insist others return campaign contributions that Edwards himself has not taken?
People who don’t know politics much, or who have an axe to grind, will sure go out of the way to make silly arguments against John Edwards.
Edwards, you recall, is the guy who made swimming pool companies stop sucking the guts out of children. Is it fair to assume, if you’re opposed to Edwards, that you favor sucking guts out of children?
Stick to the real issues, please.
