Ouch – Jake Brown Vs. Floor

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

Jake loses hardcore.

Holy Shit

What really sucks is the guy on the audio before Jake starts is really pumped up about seeing this game totally own the event then it just turns real real ugly. I will have to say that first jump was crazy as hell and it sucks to see the guy plant like that after such a stellar start.

Thanks be to Cuffy for all that painful goodness.

WTF – When Mastiffs Attack

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

At Ving Rhames’ home no less

I don’t know what to really say about this one.

The victim, who hasn’t been identified, had worked at the actor’s home for about two years and was responsible for caring for the dogs, said Los Angeles Police officer Sandra Gonzalez.

Four Mastiffs. Good Lord, but then again it is Ving Rhames’ house and if your familiar with all that ass kickin he did in Dawn of the Dea…..well…..why would you expect his dogs not to carry some of that same ass-kickery attitude. Still, that sucks that someone got mauled by those demon dogs. Prayers all around.

Gaming – The outrage just gets louder

August 3, 2007 Aurvant 3 comments

They sure are stretching that pity party as far as they can before it snaps aren’t they.

The logical and strong-minded individual would actually look at the product and say “It’s just a game” but to someone who makes a living spurring up memories of racism and oppression the product becomes a training ground.

Obama – Pakistan called…and they’re pissed.

August 3, 2007 Aurvant 2 comments

Well DUH

Obama has practically began burying himself this past week in making idiotic claim after idiotic claim regarding what his foreign policy would be.

Top Pakistan officials said Obama’s comment was irresponsible and likely made for political gain in the race for the Democratic nomination.

Yeah, well no shit.

The Associated Press of Pakistan reported Friday that Musharraf was asked at a dinner at Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s house on Thursday about the potential of U.S. military operations in Pakistan. Musharraf told guests that Pakistan was “fully capable” of tackling terrorists in the country and did not need foreign assistance.

Whoa whoa whoa, back up there. I believe that Pakistan is fully capable of tackling terrorists but they’ve also had a history of breeding them too. This is the same country that was backing the Taliban up until 2001. I’m sure the warth of America after 9/11 probably scared them in to backing us, but thats fine with me. As long as they continue backing us.

It was a matter of “grave concern that U.S. presidential candidates are using unethical and immoral tactics against Islam and Pakistan to win their election,” Afghan said.

I kinda agree to a certain point. I think if your a Presidential Candidate then bashing another country isn’t exactly going to help your image. Especially if your not currently at war with them. However, I do not think it is wrong to hold certain people in suspicion especially if they were once backing known terrorists groups.

Liberal Moderator freaks out on Uniformed Questioner

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

They sure support them troops don’t they.

One of my sources says that this was during the close of the YearlyKos panel on Military and Progressives. The article doesn’t explicitly say what function it was at, but it turns out that the Kwazy Kos Kids were behind this one.

As the Military and Progressives panel came to an end, a young man in uniform stood up to argue that the surge was working, and cutting down on Iraqi casualties. The moderator largely freaked out.

That doesn’t surprise me. The Liberals love to smash down on the military and claim that they are knuckle dragging warriors who work for the BOOSH! Administration. So, when a servicemember stands up and tries to support the military and the current war strategy the left showed their support as well and freaked the hell out on him.

To make matters worse Wes Clark came up and tried to cover up the moderators attitude by claiming that the military service member was out of line by participating in a political event while in uniform. Would that have really made a difference to how the moderator would have acted? Hell, I’m not even in the military but If I stood up and challenged one of those whacked out liberals they would come after me too.

They show their true colors when faced with the truth don’t they. They never supported the troops in the first place so it isn’t surprising that they would try to lynch one (metaphorically) who was offering an objective view.

Strange – Weird looking Sub captured in Harbor

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

Linkage for the whole story.

It’s got tiny video with crappy sound. In fact….just a bunch of static over the video of people pulling something that looks like an egg shaped underwater vessel. The report says it looks like a replica of the first submarine made in America which was used to drill in to the side of ship hulls to plant explosive powder.

I doubt that this was the current replica’s function. Could have been a bunch of dudes who wanted to build a submarine and float it around the harbor.

Officials say they don’t think it was terrorist related, but they’ll charge the guys with trespassing and other broken laws just in case.

Security – Things are being tightened quietly

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

Going up rather quickly too

Expecting another attack within the next 6 weeks? Must be what that “Coming Soon” story I talked on the other day was about. I just hope our boys can keep the security up and ready for action in case some crazy-ass terrorist decides to do something stupid.

I’m glad to see things getting beefed up though. At times when Al Qaeda is throwing threats around like they are christmas gifts it’s good to see the government take them seriously and actually prepare to stop any type of threat that may come out of these things.

Politics – Edwards is a Lawyer! er…Liar!

August 3, 2007 Aurvant 3 comments

Praise be to Allahpundit for this one

The article shows that Ole’ Pony demanded that Democrats give back campaign donations made by companies owned by Rupert Murdoch but then it turns out that Edwards has been receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from the same man that he just demanded everyone not accept money from.

Boy, Silkster just can’t help be caught in a lie these days, and you would think with a profession as a lawyer he would be much better at lying.

Old news, but hey….it’s nice to see the guy get hit in the shins every now and then.

Politics – House Republicans walk out on vote

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

By GOD it’s about time the Republicans acted like they had a spine.

Awesome.

Details remain fuzzy, but numerous Republicans argued afterward that they had secured a 215-213 win on their motion to bar undocumented immigrants from receiving any federal funds apportioned in the agricultural spending bill for employment or rental assistance. Democrats, however, argued the measure was deadlocked at 214-214 and failed, members and aides on both sides of the aisle said afterward.

The Republicans were claiming that the Democrats were trying to cheat their way in to saying that the measure had failed. A lot of chaotic stuff is going on in the video, but you can see the Republicans get up and leave and you can hear the guys on the Right calling out the Democrats for what appeared to be a “cheat” in the system.

Damnit, Allah got to it the same time I did.

He’s got video up on Cantor basically giving the Democrats “what for”.

One of these days I’ll get something faster than he does. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday…..he has to go to sleep sometime.

Intergalactic Territory

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

I like the way Neal puts this

You’ll have to scroll down to find it, but he does comment on the story that Russia is claiming the north pole. I’ve already covered the story, but he does bring up a good point. Since when did planting a flag stand as the only thing necessary to claim something? As Neal pointed out we put a flag on the Moon. Can’t we claim that then?

That would be awesome. Just stand up in the middle of a U.N. council meeting and announce it. “Hey, after much deliberation we’ve decided we’re taking the Moon, and I dare someone to stop us.”

In fact, I bet it would be ballsy enough to scare some moronic dictators from messing with us for a long while.

“Hey, don’t screw with those guys. They’re so badass they own The Moooooonnnnn.”

Yeah, America rules.

S.Korea Crisis – Who are they angry at?

August 3, 2007 Aurvant 2 comments

Why Christianity and America of course.

Strange considering this is coming from a nation that had embraced Christianity in the last century. Apparently some of the internet bloggers are to ignorant and church-hating to see the real enemy in this crisis. Reading the article it doesn’t even remotely put the blame on the actual villains in this crisis.

“Yes, let’s pray for their safe return, only if to see them kneel down and apologize to the people for the Protestants’ arrogant and blatant behavior,” one person wrote on one Internet bulletin board that Naver.com, the country’s largest Internet portal, opened to invite condolences for the two hostages who were killed.

Surely Liberalism makes all people vapid, vitriolic assholes. Blaming the Church for arrogant and blatant behavior? Do they have blinders on or something? What about the Murderous, villainous, savage, rampant, fanatical Muslim captors? Are the actual people doing the kidnapping unable to be ridiculed and admonished? Liberals are so freakin’ retarded sometimes. Instead of pulling together for support of their fellow countrymen they blame the church and claim that the missionaries were stupid for going.

Hey, the missionaries were humanitarians. They wanted to help people all over the world, but he liberal left doesn’t understand that concept obviously.

“My friends and I first wondered, ‘Why did the church send those people to a place the government had advised them not to travel?’ ” said Shim Sae-rom, a political science major at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. “What were they thinking?

First off, the Church doesn’t “send people” to other countries. The people volunteer to go and represent their faith and help others in foreign countries by giving medical, building, and monetary aide. The Church didn’t order these people to go to Afghanistan. The people wanted to go in the first place.

South Koreans also began asking why their country had sent troops to Afghanistan in the first place and why they should suffer in a war that is the business of the United States.

Well, Afghanistan was rife with Terrorist activity and considering the terrorists are predominantly Muslim, who have had a long history of Jew and Christian killin’, and I’m also pretty sure that considering the U.S. has been a pretty big ally to South Korea helped that decision along. Besides….sending in troops to kill off murderous enemies isn’t a bad thing. Especially when those enemies have like hundreds of years of experience in killing people who share the faith of Judaism and Christianity.

Oh, and they don’t like Buddhists either.

Gaming – GTAIV delayed until 2008

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

At least in North America

The release date was supposed to be October 16, 2007 but Rockstar has decided to delay the game until sometime between February 1st and April 30 of 2008. Wow, they delay it for 3 months and then they give a three month tentative window of when the game might be released.

Something is afoot.

Nevertheless this is not good news for fans of the series. Many 360 fans were banking on this game to arrive before the holiday season so that it would drive up the plunging sales of the Microsoft system, and PS3 fans were hoping that it would come along and help keep building the momentum of the PS3 ever since the price cut. Looks like both parties are just gonna have to wait it out till Valentines day. I, personally, can’t think of a greater gift for a loved one.

Oh well, looks like I’ll just have to play Heavenly Sword, Lair, and Little Big Planet until then.

Gaming – MSNBC showcases Top 5 moments

August 3, 2007 Aurvant Leave a comment

Shocking moments actually

As a Gamer I thought it was actually kinda cool that someone like MSNBC (who likes to pride themselves on being an actual news network) would take the time to catagorize their own shocking moments in gaming history. I thought two of them were mediocre, but they did get some good shock moments in that top five. The quintessential “Sephiroth killing Aeris” moment was there, and I have to say that till this day there haven’t been many gaming moments that cut through fans like that one did.

I did like the Karateka moment where the princess would kill you if you tried to approach her in a fighting style. One kick to the face….good lord.

Well, in the spirit of things I have decided to add my own top five gaming moments:

  • 5) Metroid – Finding out Samus was a woman. Was shocking but in a good way. Samus still kicks ass.
  • 4) Silent Hill 2 – First encounter with Pyramid Head. A truly disturbing creature and still creeps me out.
  • 3)Kingdom Hearts 2 – Roxas meeting Sora for the first time. It was sad and the music made it worse.
  • 2)Final Fantasy VII – Death of Aeris. Yes, it’s on my list and I still wished I could have brought her back.
  • 1) Xenogears – Appearance of ID. When a single man picks up a galactic sized ship and throws it at you…..you get rattled.

Well, thats my own list as of right now. I’m sure if I really had the time to make out a top 50 list i’d have some sweet moments that everyone could agree on, but I don’t have the time to make one up. So, enjoy or something.
